December before I started using Korean HAIR care

Now almost March
3 months

I was starting to worry about the amount of hair I was losing, it was starting to feel thinner and thinner over the last couple of years and not growing as fast as it used to. I’ve always had a good thick head of hair. My scalp was always super flaky and itchy too.

I’ve been using the Botalab Korean line from Riman for 3 months and my god it’s grown about 2 inches and thickened up at the root so much! I no longer have a dry itchy scalp. The image now is washed and dried no styling.

Do you struggle with oil skin like I did? Constantly stripping it to try and dry it out? But then breaking out again?

I was just talking to someone about the products and looking for pictures of how bad my skin was only last year when I tattooed my eyebrows.

I hadn’t realised quite how bad it was ! I did start on Trinny London skincare about a year and a half ago and introduced a night retinal after I saw how bad my pigmentation was and it did help a little bit. I did love the skin care and was using a Vit C serum too (not cheap products either) but it wasnt doing anything for the texture and tone. I was also using an Elemis resurfacing wash & resurfacing pads and a Clarins scrub. Before then I swore by Mario Badescue but that only helped breakouts a little.

Then I found Korean Skin care and I was willing to give it a go and it changed my skin within 60 days!!! All those products to gain not much.

One spend on a line I was giving my last hope.

I’ve used the spenny (expensive) stuff. I wasn’t blown away. I still hated the texture, the lines on my forehead because it was so dehydrated and my huge black pores.

Don’t get me wrong I still get the odd pimple and I love to squeeze. I know I shouldn’t ! I’m trying to stop 🤣

But there you go. Koreans have the best! I like to say that this specific line is like the Elemis of Korean skin care. Actually cheaper!

I’m having a hard time seeing the tattoo and I did them 😂

3rd of December I got my Korean Skin care sample and I’ve not looked back. It’s been a bumpy ride, started off nice, ate a fuck load of sugar over Christmas and I always can tell when I’ve over cooked the sugar because I get spots on my cheeks and around my eyes.

We’re almost there ! I just wish I didn’t have the marks from my glasses on my nose 😅

I am usually really really oily to the point you can see it seeping out of my pores but sticking with the oil based cleanser and toner it’s balanced everything out.

My skin is clean and Jesus is it hydrated !! No Btox I purposely took a break to see how much it would reduce the lines on my forehead.

What a year it’s been. To say I’ve learned a lot would be an understatement. I got to a point where I was craving something new but still within my industry.

So I’ve already posted this but not with much context.

I know a lot of people are wondering how. Well it’s quite simple, I’m on a journey of repairing my skin barrier. And I’m trialing this Korean skincare without needles, acids or Btx just to see how much healing it can do.

Because a healthy functioning skin barrier:

1. Keeps water in
The barrier prevents transepidermal water loss. This is what keeps skin plump, smooth, and comfortable.
When the barrier is weak, skin feels tight, dehydrated, dull, or flaky no matter how much moisturiser you use.

2. Keeps irritants out
It acts like a shield against bacteria, pollution, allergens, and harsh chemicals.
A damaged barrier lets these in, which is why skin becomes reactive, red, itchy, inflamed, or acne prone.

3. Regulates inflammation
A strong barrier keeps the immune response calm and controlled.
When it’s impaired, the skin stays in a low-grade inflammatory state, leading to sensitivity, breakouts, pigmentation, and premature ageing.

4. Supports healing and repair
Skin can only regenerate properly when the barrier is intact.
If the barrier is compromised, treatments don’t work properly, healing slows, and results never last.

5. Maintains skin’s microbiome
The barrier supports healthy bacteria on the skin’s surface.
Disrupt it, and you invite imbalance, congestion, acne, rosacea, and flare ups.

In short:
The skin barrier decides whether your skin thrives or struggles.

28 days on K beauty

My clients today even said “your pigmentation has gone!!”

Truth is I’ve eaten far too much sugar over Christmas and it’s showing in my skin. I have spots above my cheeks round my eyes. Can’t stop squeezing.

But I did notice how my pimples react since using this skincare. I’ll squeeze daily because I think the sooner that’s emptied the sooner it’ll bugger off. Nothing really comes out and of course it turns into a yellow head.

I’ve been using the calming gel to reduce the redness and inflammation immediately after a squeeze and within 20 minutes the redness subsides. They don’t stay angry! I can squeeze every day and they don’t get angry. Then within 2/3 days they’ve gone leaving nothing but a tiny red mark which then disappears over a few days.
